Tennis has often been seen as a symbol of female empowerment, offering women the opportunity to compete and excel in a male-dominated field. Women's tennis has also been an important platform for female athletes to gain recognition and push for equal pay and treatment. Over the years, many female tennis players have used their platform to speak out on important issues and to challenge the status quo.

At the same time, tennis has also been a site of struggle for women, as they have faced significant barriers and discrimination in the sport. For much of its history, women's tennis was seen as a lesser version of men's tennis, with lower prize money and fewer opportunities for women to compete. Women have also faced widespread misogyny and sexism in the sport, both on and off the court. Despite these challenges, women have continued to play and compete in tennis, using their skills and determination to push for change and to demonstrate the importance of female athletes in the sport. Through their persistence and resilience, women have been able to create a lasting impact on tennis and to make it a more inclusive and equitable sport for all.
