Fausto Gilberti. Disegni del terzo tipo: NEWS | MUSEUM EXHIBITION at Museo Civico P. A. Garda, Ivrea | In collaboration with La Grande Invasione
Forthcoming event
Overview
WIZARD GALLERY is pleased to share Disegni del terzo tipo, a solo exhibition by Fausto Gilberti presented at the Museo Civico P. A. Garda in Ivrea, in collaboration with La Grande Invasione.
The exhibition brings together a selection of recent works dedicated to the latest production of the Brescia-based artist, whose practice is distinguished by an essential, ironic, and immediately recognizable visual language. Through predominantly black-and-white drawings, Gilberti constructs suspended visual worlds populated by stylized figures, animals, landscapes, and subtle references that connect art history, popular culture, and everyday imagery.
The exhibition title recalls the idea of a "close encounter of the third kind," transforming the experience of viewing into an active process of associations, interpretations, and shifting meanings. Balancing irony, poetry, and subtle unease, Gilberti's works invite viewers into a universe where simplicity of form conceals layered cultural and emotional references.
Born in Brescia in 1970, where he currently lives and works, Fausto Gilberti studied at the Accademia di Belle Arti di Brera in Milan. Over the past years, his work has been exhibited internationally at institutions including the Moka Hyundai Museum in Seoul, the Italian Cultural Institute in Stockholm, the Elgiz Museum in Istanbul, the Museo d'Arte Contemporanea di Valencia, and the Centro per l'Arte Contemporanea Luigi Pecci in Prato. Alongside his exhibition practice, he has also developed an important editorial activity as author of illustrated books for children and young adults, published by Corraini Edizioni.
The exhibition opens on Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 6 pm.
