An evening to celebrate the artists and the opening of an exhibition that reflects on migration, memory, and the cultural threads we carry across borders; language, ritual, identity, and belonging.

Art in Latin America is pleased to announce WHAT WE TAKE, the platform’s first exhibition, co-curated with CM Art Advisory, featuring works by Alessandra Risi, Nelson Hernandez, Benito Ekmekdjian, and Eliel Martinez.

As part of our mission to support the next generation of Latin American artists, curators and writers, we chose London as the setting for our first exhibition, bringing the platform into a physical space and creating room for emerging Latin American practices to be encountered, understood, and carried into broader international conversations.

WHAT WE TAKE, co-curated with CM Art Advisory, explores the cultural identity of Latin American migrants through contemporary art. It examines the emotional and symbolic elements carried across borders, including rituals, language, memory, music, and tradition, that shape identity and belonging.

At its core, WHAT WE TAKE asks a fundamental question: What do we carry when we leave home?

As migration continues to shape societies worldwide, WHAT WE TAKE offers a timely and deeply human reflection on identity across borders. By highlighting both intimate stories and universal themes, the exhibition fosters dialogue and builds bridges of understanding between cultures. It invites audiences to engage emotionally and intellectually with the migrant experience while celebrating the enduring strength of Latin American identity.
