Diango Hernández at Mart: Allegory of Public Happiness (Allegoria della felicità pubblica): MUSEUM EXHIBITION

28 March - 30 June 2024
From an idea by Vittorio Sgarbi. Curated by Giulia Colletti and Gabriele Lorenzoni.

The exhibition addresses the theme of public happiness, understood as the individual's urgency to transcend their own private interest with the goal of collective well-being.

Through a blending of eras, subjects, and cultural matrices, the exhibition path fosters the coexistence of artistic inquiries that question happiness not only as a principle of personal self-determination but as a public interest. Among social rituals and cultural languages, curators and artists invite participants to experiment with new forms of sociality and to conceive of public happiness as a condition of well-being achievable through daily practices of resistance and active participation.

Artists in the exhibition include Hangama Amiri, John Baldessari, Gianfranco Baruchello, Mirella Bentivoglio, Alighiero Boetti, Maurizio Cattelan, Piermario Ciani, Betty Danon, Gino De Dominicis, Anna Esposito, Nan Goldin, Daniel Gonzalez, Dan Halter, Sharon Hayes, Diango Hernandez, Annalies Klophaus, Eva Koťátková, Barbara Kruger, Ketty La Rocca, Yarema Malashchuk & Roman Himey, Lucia Marcucci, Jacopo Mazzonelli, Alina McDonald, Bruno Munari, Jackson Nkumanda, Maurizio Nannucci, Anna Oberto, Ahmet Öğüt, Solomostry, Mariasilvia Spolato, Zapruder.
