Gabriele di Matteo's series "Made in China, Made in Italy" for Art Basel Unlimited stems from

the realization that: "It is almost impossible to patent a single style of painting" because it is impossible to apply claims related to copyright to any artistic imagination. Since the beginning of his artistic career, Gabriele has questioned how the active participation of the painter in the painting process should be closely linked to the hands-on exercise of the painting practice itself.
