Arco presents Luce, a group exhibition curated by Diana Segantini and promoted by Fondazione Augusto Rancilio, on view at Villa Arconati from 19 April to 5 July 2026. One year after its launch, and following the significant response to its previous edition, Arco’s innovative art platform now introduces an exhibition path dedicated to the theme of light.

Whether natural or artificial, light is a physical phenomenon, a cultural metaphor, matter and energy all at once. Within the spaces of Villa Arconati, it becomes the generative element of the exhibition. Through a selection of works engaging directly with the architecture and atmosphere of the Villa, the exhibition explores light in its many dimensions. In this edition, the project evolves towards a more focused curatorial approach, bringing together artists and galleries in a route spanning the exhibition rooms on the ground floor and selected areas of the palace gardens.

La distribuzione consente quindi di creare una visita più concentrata e intensa, dove il rapporto tra il contemporaneo e l’architettura barocca possano essere più intimi e decisi. This layout creates a more concentrated and intense visitor experience, where the dialogue between contemporary art and Baroque architecture becomes more intimate and more defined.

Featured artists include Gabriella Benedini, Pietro Coletta, Salvatore Cuschera, Marco D’Anna, Riccardo De Marchi, Mario Deluigi, Alex Dorici, Igor Eskinja, Flavio Favelli, Emanuele Gregolin, Diango Hernández, Brigitte Kowanz, Julia Krahn, Luca Marignoni, Sasi Menale, Conor McCreedy, Madalena Negrone, Izumi Ōki, Flavio Paolucci, Ivan Seal, Melanie Sterba, Antoni Taulé, Varozza, Nives Widauer and Max Zuber.

Complementing the exhibition, a dedicated cultural programme has been developed to further explore the theme of light through different formats and moments. Art Talks On Light includes conversations with artists, curators and scholars, sunset guided tours, and evening events in the historic park throughout the duration of the exhibition.

With this renewed energy, Arco reaffirms its role as a platform capable of connecting historical context with contemporary practice, positioning itself once again as a cultural movement reflecting on the languages and mechanisms of the present. By building a bridge between collaboration and visibility for the many figures shaping today’s art system, Arco offers prestigious settings for exchange and research among a wide range of interlocutors, from universities to the market, from artistic experimentation to theoretical reflection. The choice of the name Arco is symbolic, evoking a bridge between tradition and innovation, while also recalling an architectural element of strong symbolic value.

Fondazione Augusto Rancilio and Segantini Unlimited, have made this second edition possible. These include Curuna Ardez, Francesca Minini, Galleria Monica De Cardenas, Kromya Gallery, NP Art Lab, Paula Seegy Gallery and Wizard Gallery.

Villa Arconati and Fondazione Augusto Rancilio

Located in the heart of the Parco delle Groane, only 10 km from the centre of Milan, Villa Arconati is one of the most important examples of a villa di delizia of the Milanese aristocracy. Built on the direct study of twelve of Leonardo da Vinci's Codices - including the Atlantic - kept here until 1637, it is a ten-thousand-square-metre palace and a twelve-hectare monumental park, which is today one of the very few examples of Italian and French-style gardens in Lombardy.

Its treasures include the so-called Pompeo Magno, one of the largest Roman statues in all of northern Italy; one of the very few frescoes by Fratelli Galliari, the set designers who inaugurated La Scala in Milan; and a Hall of Mirrors from the Lombard Baroque.

Fondazione Augusto Rancilio, the non-profit cultural organisation that owns the property, has been running a project to restore and enhance Villa Arconati since the early 2000s, promoting and supporting actions in the cultural, artistic and social fields.
