Opening: Wednesday, June 7 at 19:00 - 21:00
Castello di San Giorgio
P.za S. Giorgio, 19032 Lerici (SP)
Taking place in the evocative setting of the Castello di San Giorgio in Lerici (SP), The Lighthouse of Contemporary Art – Lighthouse Contemporary 2025 is conceived specifically for the castle’s spaces and designed to serve as a compass for navigating—like cardinal points —the new currentsof contemporary art.
Promoted by WIZARD GALLERY, and curated by Chiara Guidi, the exhibition aims to offer the public a set of coordinates—after identifying the driving forces behind various artistic trends—to ensure a sharp, cross-disciplinary, and global view of today’s most relevant artistic languages. The project unfolds as a single large installation, developing through the various rooms across the castle’s three floors.
The use of the term “lighthouse” is closely tied to both the physical and symbolic nature of the location: perceived as a beacon, the Castello di San Giorgio rises majestically on a rocky promontory overlooking the sea, dominating the horizon. A stronghold among the waves, a point of reference and orientation, the lighthouse-castle thus becomes an anchoring pointand guide for visitors—not just a simple exhibition venue, but a true “illuminating” landmark for the art world and its audience.
Conceived to dialogue with the architecture and history of the castle, The Lighthouse of Contemporary Art, through the various media and languages of the selected artists, aims to be both a vibrant show and a compass to navigate the most contemporary tendencies.
